The end product of this crochet pattern looks extremely complicated. The diamonds are all formed by front post stitches. In the samples shown, we used variegated yarn colorways, but the hat would look equally as good in a solid color. For a wilder look, it would be possible to work the diamonds in one color and the background stitches in another adding a deeper 3-D effect to the finished hat.
