Frequently Asked Questions

If you are having trouble downloading or understanding a pattern from this website you may contact me via email at:

katnabox.crochet@gmail.com

That said, do not use Etsy to contact me for any content on this website. Doing so will cause confusion, and will waste time while I try to find an order that occured here and not on Etsy. Two completely different beasts.

How will I receive my digital pattern?

Once payment is received you should receive an email with a download link to receive your pattern. If you do not receive your email after 24 hours please contact me at katnabox.crochet@gmail.com. Likewise, do not wait too long to download your pattern. This may result in the web link expiring, and your pattern will be lost.

I don't understand this pattern, how do I do X?

Most older vintage patterns put much of the knowledge upon the user. Google and other search engines are a powerful tool to help look up techniques you may not be familiar with. I have difficulty level listed in all my pattern titles so please read them. I am more than willing to help but I can't turn a beginner crocheter into an expert overnight. Please contact me at katnabox.crochet@gmail.com for help.

How do I open this PDF File?

You will need adobe acrobat (or any other pdf reader) to open and read these files. You can get a free downloadable copy here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

I don't recognize the type of yarn used, what type should I use?

Many of the vintage patterns use yarns that are discontinued. Sometimes you can find the particular type on websites such as Etsy, Ravalry or Ebay. Sometimes you can't, and you will have to research the weight of the yarn. Always check your gauge!

I don't like the type of yarn they suggest, can I use a different yarn?

Absolutely! However, I cannot stress enough the importance of checking your gauge, especially in this type of situation. Keep in mind that by changing the yarn, you will be changing the entire look of the piece you are making.
