Alternating blue and white star motifs, joined together in crochet, form an undulating pattern across the striped afghan. Red bands of solid and openwork crochet are added to the upper and lower edges of each star stripe, then strips are sewn together for a waving flag effect. Giant tassels trim the afghan top and bottom.
