An Aran Cardigan, usually is knitted, this is interpreted for the crocheter in authentic natural wool color. In the Irish tradition, different pattern stitches, some raised, are worked across the sweater in panels. Here, puffy stitches in diamond shapes are outlined with single crochet. 

Please note: I found what looks like an error within the pattern. There may be a missing row of instructions for the pattern stitch used. I have made note of this error in two locations on the pattern, where it occurs and at the bottom of the pattern itself. This is an author error, not one of my doing.
