This pattern uses a yarn that is discontinued and extremely rare. The company Bishop, was only open from 1950 - 1952 to begin with. What I know of the yarn maker is most of their yarns were sport weight or lighter. That said, you should chose your yarn type for this project based on gauge. Use the weight of yarn that helps you to achieve the listed gauge.
